EURO-EMOTUR Project Announces Launch Date for Euro-Emotur Hub: Transforming European Tourism through Digital Innovation

EURO-EMOTUR, an EU-funded Project, co-funded by the COSME Programme of the European Commission is initiative driving digital transformation in the European tourism sector. The project is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the EURO-EMOTUR Hub on April 22nd, 2024. This transformative platform will be hosted on the EURO-EMOTUR project website, and it promises to revolutionise how SMEs in the tourism sector harness digital technologies to enhance their businesses and customer experiences.

The EURO-EMOTUR project, “Digitization For SMEs In The Tourism Sector,” is dedicated to reshaping the European tourism industry through innovative digital solutions. At its core, the project aims to connect SMEs with digital technologies, leveraging both emotions and knowledge to facilitate their digital transition.

The EURO-EMOTUR Hub will serve as a comprehensive digital ecosystem, offering a myriad of tools and resources tailored to SMEs in the tourism sector. Key features of the hub include:

  • Digital skills and performance self-assessment tools;
  • Best practices repository;
  • Roadmap of available technologies and digital suppliers;
  • Opportunities to draft new products, services, and business models;
  • Structural connections within the European tourism ecosystem.

One of the pivotal roles in connecting SMEs with digital and technology suppliers within the EURO-EMOTUR Hub is played by Business Support Organisations (BSOs), also known as labs. Through an open innovation approach, the living lab within the hub integrates SMEs, technological providers, regional clusters, public regional tourism organizations, and various BSOs, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The launch of the EURO-EMOTUR Hub represents a significant goal in the EURO-EMOTUR project’s journey towards digital transformation in European tourism. The hub’s objectives encompass enhancing SMEs’ digital skills, fostering cross-sectoral cooperation, implementing innovative solutions, designing new products and services, expanding business through transnational cooperation, and ensuring long-term activities beyond EU co-funding.

“The Hub is a unique opportunity for SMEs to connect with specialized service providers in technology and digitalization, to network and share experiences, learn from best practices, receive training from specialized labs, and receive support at every stage of the digital transition, from diagnosis to implementation and monitoring.” said Sergio Moreno Gil, Project Lead at ULPGC-Tides. “This platform will serve as a catalyst for digital innovation in European tourism, empowering SMEs to thrive in the digital age.”
